This research on the Newman and Davis Families was begun in the 1980s, by Thelma
Ardythe Newman then laid aside. It is being dusted off and is slowly being
transcribed onto this TribalPages site by Ardythe's daughter Val Baugh. The
Newmans are descendents of Conrad (Coonrad) Newman and Nimrod Newman who came
from Germany with their father Johann by way of Switzerland. We have just begun
to add on the Davis/Rice/Lawrence connection, most came from England, a few from
American Indian. Most of the families on this site are from Virginia, West
Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. It is a work in progress and when you
